Hey everyone! So Week 2 has flown by already - we can't believe how fast the challenge is going for Alex - it's going to be so boring when she has to go back to wearing normal clothes!
It's been another exciting week of her campaign, #FancyDressMonth for Pancreatic Cancer UK - we hope you're all following the daily updates on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and anywhere else we can stick the hilarious pictures.
The campaign was also given an added boost by Alex's sister in law, Becky who held a fundraising day at her hairdressing salon, The Hair Company in Melling on her day off. She not only did everyone's hair and donated all of the proceeds to the cause, but she also put a host of fab prizes together for a HUGE raffle - with prizes thanks to her lovely customers and the community's generosity, plus Alex's brother and sister! The Yoma team love a good raffle and managed to raise £50 through their tickets alone (and managed to win a few prizes! Woohoo!)
Altogether Becky managed to raise a fantastic £576! And after halving the amount so half was donated to Alex's campaign on her JustGiving page www.justgiving.com/lydiaslove for Pancreatic Cancer UK and the other half to Breast Cancer UK, as Becky sadly also lost her lovely mum to this illness, she very generously pushed Alex over the £1k stage!!
So it's been a brilliant week and today is World Pancreatic Cancer Day, so the perfect time to update you on all the progress so far! So without further ado, let's dive in for this week's daily update...
Alex wished Marie Curie UK a very Happy Birthday by wearing a daffodil costume!! Her best friend, Sarah very kindly bought it for her as it was not only the charity's official symbol but also Alex's mum's favourite flower.
The Marie Curie nurses did an excellent job of helping her look after her mum - and her next fundraising event will be for Marie Curie. You can learn more about the night service which is invaluable to helping those caring for their family members - and which relies on funding to be able to continue helping others - through their latest campaign here. Alex is hugely proud to call a couple of the nurses her friends today.
With the WWE wrestling team in Liverpool for their WWE Live tour, Alex paid tribute with this brilliant outfit - which started off with the mask her boyfriend, John wore for Halloween! In order to make the outfit complete, Content girls, Amy and Natalie used their crafty skills to create a last minute WWE belt for her, and as a result, she became El Musculo Alejandroooo...
Alex wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all those who have donated to her campaign and helped her reach OVER DOUBLE her initial goal of £500!! You're all angels, and hence on today which is World Pancreatic Cancer Day to raise awareness, she wants to thank you all for your support - and this one (from angel, Drene - her friend Sarah's mum in law!) is dedicated to all of you.
PS: The clue of 'what do James Stewart, Kendall Jenner and Robbie Williams have in common' was because James Stewart famously starred in 'It's a Wonderful Life', about a man whose guardian angel visits him, Kendall Jenner this week joined the Victoria's Secret Angels, and Robbie Williams had a huge hit with his song 'Angels'!

Day 7: A Daffodil!

Day 8: A Unicorn!
It's not every day you get to do your washing as a unicorn! But that's exactly what Alex got to do on the day of the week that is usually reserved for all those boring household chores, Sunday. But it's so much more fun when you're a sparkly, glamourous unicorn, as she found out - thanks to the generosity of 6 year old Ava, her best friend, Carolyn's little girl, who went all the way down to St George's Hall on Nov 1st to deliver this costume for the campaign in person! This was a definite favourite of Alex's.Day 9: Laa Laa the Teletubby
After nearly 20 years away from our screens, The Teletubbies returned to CBeebies on Monday - so Alex marked this occasion by dressing as her favourite teletubby, Laa Laa! It was perfect for the cold weather, as she sat snug at her desk all day - though the belly did mean she had to stretch a little to reach her keyboard...Day 10: Hey Bert, it's Ernie!
Tuesday was Sesame Street Day around the world, and so Alex joined in the celebrations by dressing as Ernie - with her little mini Bert donated by her key wardrobe assistant, her 9 year old nephew, Mason. We liked this one so much - especially when she had to take a meeting with fellow Content team member, Sam! - that we've even decided to keep the Yoma Street sign in our new break area! 'Can you tell us how to get, how to get to Yoma Street..'Day 11: Lucha Libre wrestler!!
Day 12: Breakfast at Yoma, with Audrey Hepburn
Who says you can too over-dressed for work?! In full length gown and dress gloves, Alex became her idol, Audrey Hepburn for Thursday's outfit. It was inspired by her boyfriend's nan, Betty who let Alex borrow her jewellery for her costume and as such, let her live a life-long dream of being the elegant style icon for the day! She even went in costume to celebrate sister in law, Angie's birthday with a good old chippy tea! She has always loved Audrey, ever since her mum introduced her to the actress and bought Alex Audrey's biography when she was 16. Alex says that more than just her beauty and elegance, she admired her compassion and charity work she did for UNICEF. Her favourite poem is said to be by Sam Levenson, 'Time Tested Beauty Tips' and Alex says the words are something everyone can take throughout their lives, we think it's beautiful:Time Tested Beauty Tips

We thought this week deserved an addition of a special mention for Betty (as mentioned above!) for this beautiful scarf she crocheted at great speed in time for Alex for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, and which she has wore every day throughout the month with pride. It doesn't get more special than this thoughtful gift - it was made with some love and thoughtfulness, we all want one in the Yoma office, please Betty!! Lots of Yoma hugs!
